I smiled and hugged back, she saw me, a looking monster but she is willingly hugging me. I think I feel... happy, I haven't felt like this in ages. Right there and then I made a unconscious vow to protect her and all she represents and rebuild my life. A new start.
First on my list is to find out what I am.

I stared at her shocked. I was speechless. The poem just going round and round in my head. Was it possible? I'm not a monster?
What did Alina say.. It's not what you are that makes you you, it's what you choose to do in you life and who you decide to be.. I guess she's right.
But I'm still a freak, who has ever heard of a vampire with wings and powers, or eyes that change colour into anything other than red?

I..I.. Well to say I'm surprised is, well, an understatement.
"Why are you hugging me? I'm a monster, a.. freak." I didn't realise I had said it till she looked up at me in shock, she looks so small, fragile even. It felt nice, I feel love even if soon she'll realise that I'm a freak and run away. Then I'll be alone again, hiding from my past and probably the future.
What did that poem say? I found it written on torn paper.

"People die..
Beauty fades..
Love changes..
And you will always be alone.."

Because I am wrong, I should not live, I should not be alive. And yet I know I have to push on, there is something pushing me forward, one foot in front of the other, forward.
I came out of my daydream, she was looking at me shocked, like I was a injured animal. Hurt, afraid.

There's so much tension, I can't look into those eyes just to see them disgusted with me. To look at me like I'm a freak, a monster. I felt anger at his words, if he wants a fight he'll get a fight.
I could feel the shadows in the darkness, the cold deathly touch but homely to me, peaceful in a way. I absorbed their strength and the eagerness. The prick dropped Rose and started to walk towards me, the shadows softened her fall. With a flick of my wrist a whip like tentacle cut him across the face, a minor warning. He became angry and started to run towards me.
He slowed down, took a step back and ran away. What the hell!?!?!
Then I realised that Rose was looking up at me in horror.
Was there something behind me?
Oh, damn, I saw my self in the mirror.
White wings, my eyes like luminous blue, even whiter skin and shadows mist like and tentacley surrounding me.
Thats new...

I was running, me being me forgot to keep track of the time. So I'm now late to my first lesson here. Great. Sprinting through the lifeless corridors ... wait, maybe not so lifeless... that voice, I'm sure I know it... ROSE! She doesn't sound happy. I headed to her voice using my vampire speed. I turned the corner, some prick has her against the wall, what an arse hole. I am going to break him, no body touched my friends. Wait, what.. Friend? I guess she is.
"HEY. Get off her you prick!" Please listen to me, leave her alone, she looks so pale and scared.

i was walking back to my class when some guy wouldnt let me walk past him "exuce me"i said looking down shyly

I can't believe this what a coincidence the Goddess must be happy or something like that. Ahhhhh.. maybe not. Wings. Cramp. Not good.
"I'll see you there I just have to.. get something. Outside..." Quickly, but I could have done better than that. Normally I'm a good liar. Oh well. Awhhhhh. I backed up a few paces than sprinted out the door round the corner and released my wings. Freedom, finally. I flew, I missed this. The calm, I soared higher. Peace.

I took Rose's wrist in the traditional vampire greeting, I looked in her eyes and saw a thing I thought I would never see in a creature like her, determination and inner strength. Finally someone like me, not in the inner sanctions of the social society. School doesn't look as bad, don't get me wrong. It's still like torture but now I have someone to push me through, lets hope I can pull her through too.

I bet she also doesn't know I have wings, I'm good at hiding them but I can't help but wonder where the hell did I get them from. Neither of my parents or grandparents have angel blood so, why the wings? Talking about wings I really need to stretch them I'm going to get cramps again, not a good experience.

"I'm sorry" I say, really just wanting to be alone. Maybe reading a nice book or walking through a big dark lonely park where I can sing and forget about the world. Forget what is bound to come.

I kicked my way to the school, not looking where I was going or who stared at the new girl, who needs friends? Yer, it would be nice but I'm just that loner vamp who doesn't socialise like others, the abnormality.

i sighed and got off the swing walking to school was a drag. Being as clumbsy as i usualy was i tripped over the curb by the front doors of the school, dropping all my work.

I hated going to school, I hated to be away from mother but it made her happy. Ever since she found out that Father.. what he did to me.. Well she was never the same, she was carefree now a lifeless shell is in her place, Mother tries to pretend but I can always see though her lies and act. She thinks I'm going to be happy at school and made new friends. Yer, because that went so well at the last school, where I ended up putting most of the jocks into hospital because they wouldn't leave me alone and stop flirting with me even though all I wanted was peace and quiet.
Well, here goes nothing. I stepped into the school's reception...
